Chinese Herbs for childhood eczema

From a father’s letter. “I visited you about a week and a half ago with my wife and daughter. I have to say your Miracle has happened!!!!! My little girl has no eczema anymore and her skin looks very good and is even soft and smooth.“ C.S.

“Out little boy has spent 6 weeks in a hospital and nothing seemed to help. He experienced some different therapies such as “wet wrap” therapy. He also used a lot of aggressive ointments which all contained coriticosteroids (hormones) but none of these would help him much.

Then a friend told us of the Chinese method that uses herbs instead of coriticosteroids. We were really astonished how soon the medicine worked. Within two days we could see the eczema disappear.

When our son had so much trouble with his eczema he scratched all over his body and his skin was damaged. He also had some sleeping troubles. It was really a sad thing because we couldn’t do anything about it. But now with the help of your medicine he is a very different human being. His skin is healed. He is cheerful and smiling all day. We really want to thank you for that.”  L.F. Y.F.

Research Note: Dr. Wang‘s herbal formulas have been passed down from generation to generation in her family and are not identical to the herbal formulas that have been studied. However, the following research illustrates that Chinese herbs can be effective against eczema. Dr. Wang reports that there are few recurrences when her recommendations are followed.

Sheehan, M.P., Atherton, D.J. (1992). A controlled trial of traditional Chinese medicinal plants in widespread non-exudative atopic eczema  In a placebo-controlled double-blind trial of a specific prescription formulated for widespread non-exudative atopic eczema, analysis was done on 37 children. Superior results were achieved when Chinese herbs were given as compared to the results from placebo (no herbs given). Tests for possible negative side effects were negative- no negative side effects were found.

J--Ethnopharmacol. 1997 Apr; 56(2): 103-8  "A standardized mixture of Chinese herbs has recently been demonstrated to be an effective treatment for chronic atopic eczema in placebo controlled trials in the UK.
