Biography

Wang Yan, 71, is a world-famous doctor not only of TCM, but more uniquely a Medical Qigong Master, who knows over 200 kinds of medical qigong. She is also known for her award winning herbal medicine.  She has received numerous awards and recognitions including honorary doctorates, Qigong Master of the year, being appointed as professor of herbology, America Academy of Sciences’ Golden Award of Science Ability, and more.

In addition she is a 6 time World Champion of Yang 's Tai-ji' (Tai Chi) Quan, winning the most recent one when she was 62. She was just as disciplined in her continued studies of medical qigong and herbology.

Born in Qinjiang, Jiangsu province in 1937. From her early childhood she studied Qigong and Tai Chi. She completed her medical degree in 1958. In addition, to practicing medicine she also taught at six different Nanjing Universities, teaching over 18,000 students. Students from around the world came to study with her both for medical qigong and for martial arts.  For example, both medical doctors and martial art students from France came to study with her. She taught the Swedish Royal Family Dance Troupe.

In China, she is a national celebrity and a leading expert in her field. In China, much of the qigong was disappearing with the death of the patriarch of a family, because with the one child policy if the child and grandchild were female, the family qigong secrets were not passed on. Concerned about loosing this knowledge which was thousands of years old, the Chinese government asked her to spearhead a project to collect all the known Qigong and Wu Shu en  (Tai Chi) material in Jiangsu by visiting and studying with all the masters in the province. She then wrote and edited two books on this material. She is listed as one of China's Top 100 Doctors.
She acquired excellent knowledge of Chinese herbal medicine by traveling through forests and climbing mountains in remote areas of
China in search of plants with medicinal properties. She also studied with as many masters as she could both for medical qigong and for herbal medicine.

In May 1989 Dr. Wang moved to Holland.  She received national and international recognition when she taught Holland’s largest man, who weighed 509 pounds, weight loss qigong (sit-think-breathe). He lost 48 pounds in his first week and 165 pounds in a few months.

She has been on television over 200 times and written about  in newspapers and magazines in Europe, U.S, Canada, Asia. Her clinic was so successful that she could not meet the demand.  Patients come to her from around the world.  Western medicine doctors  and hospitals referred patients to her knowing that Western medicine did not have much to offer patients with certain illnesses, such as psoriasis. She has taught in China, Japan, U.S., Canada, Europe, Russia.

At the age of 70 she decided to turn her clinic over to her daughter in order to travel and teach qigong to people around the world. She recently traveled to Russia for the first time at the invitation of the Moscow University. Her trip was so successful they did not want her to leave.

Her combined knowledge of medical qigong, herbs and Traditional Chinese Medicine make her an especially unique and powerfull  healer

who provides a comprehensive approach to medical care.
