When in Chicago she went to the lakefront in the morning to practice her sword routine before starting her workday.

August 2008 Dr. Wang returned to Holland after three weeks of teaching in the US. She was glad to see her husband, who is a western doctor and her son and his wife and children who live in Amsterdam. Her daughter lives about two hours away with her husband and children.
She sent me some photos and told me the one with her in front of the yellow car is her favorite- see below. That's Lake Michigan in the background. The friend she was staying with lived right across from the lake. In the morning before she started working, she would go to the lakefront and practice her sword routine, see picture above. This is the picture I keep of her in my living room.
If you don't know, Dr. Wang won six world championships for Tai Chi, the last one when she was 62. She also won a world championship for Kung Fu and one for long tassel sword- see picture below. I studied Karate for 4 years and got to green belt, one belt below brown and then comes black, but then moved to a small college town where there was no instructor. When I returned to a big city I was busy getting my PhD and only took only occasional classes. I also studied jujitsu. As you advance in martial arts to higher and higher belts your skill level becomes more complicated, sophisticated and detailed. This requires more and more time for practice. Prior to taking my green belt test I was practicing two hours day. I admire Dr. Wang for the amount of time, effort and dedication involved to achieve the level that she achieved in martial arts. International Wu Shu [Kung-Fu] Federation Inc. 9th degree Black Belt.

She won a world championship for long tassel sword.
 She turned 72 on 8/19/08.
On August 19 she turned 72. She sent me a picture of the flowers and plants I had delivered for her. She is holding them in the picture. She also got a dozen long stemmed red roses from two different people.
When she returned there was a long list of people waiting to see her for treatment . When I spoke to her one day she was very excited about a boy who had had multiple seizures every day for 10 years in spite of being on medication. She saw him once and when he returned in one week he reported he had only had 2 seizures for the entire week, so she was very pleased that they were on the right path to give him some permanent relief.
